Golf Courses near Killington Big House

There is no finer place to enjoy the game than Green Mountain National Golf Course. What separates us from others are the unique and challenging design features. Carved out of the majestic Green Mountains, the course offers solitude and a “private” golf experience that will challenge players of all abilities.

High in the lush Green Mountains of Vermont, discover breathtaking panoramas, azure skies and an 18-hole championship course as exhilarating as the view. Geoffrey Cornish designed this course to take full advantage of the awe-inspiring mountain terrain. Killington’s rushing snowmelt streams and elevation changes make for an exciting and strategic long game.

Our generous greens allow you to attack the flag with confidence. This 6,186-yard, par 72 course presents a refreshing round for any golfer, no matter what skill level or handicap. And at our 2,000-foot elevation, gentle breezes offer a soothing respite from the summer sun.

Although it is located in the mountains, you needn’t be a Sherpa to play Green Mountain National. Gently sloping fairways featuring generous landing areas, distinctive changes in elevation and undulating greens provide natural beauty. View the centuries-old rock formations carved by the glaciers, and be sure to take a moment on the 16th tee as you enjoy the panoramic views in a spectacular setting.

Rutland Country Club is a semi-private, 18 hole golf course located in Rutland, Vermont.

The Rutland Country Club golf course first opened for play in 1902. The course (original nine) was designed by George Low. Wayne Stiles and John Van Kleek added nine new holes and redesigned the others in 1928.

In 1897, the Rutland Golf Club was incorporated on Clement Road, here in Rutland. In 1901, members from that club purchased the Baxter Farm and established the Rutland Country Club. The “new course” opened over 100 years ago in 1902.

This course was built on hilly terrain and has undulating, fast greens. The fairways are in excellent condition. There is one creek that comes into play on five holes. The west side of the course is heavily wooded. Golf Digest rated this as the 2nd “Best Public Course” in the state for 1996, and also rated it the 4th “Best in State” course for the years 1995 through 1998.

The Rutland Country Club golf course plays to 6,134 yards from the back tees for a course rating of 69.7 and a slope rating of 125. Par for the course is 70.
